  1. In a wok heat the oil.
  2. Once hot add in the onions.
  3. Fry onions until golden brown.
  4. Next add in the ginger garlic paste. Mix well. Saute for 2-3 mins.
  5. Next add in the sabut garam masala and saute for another 3-4 mins.
  6. Add in the remaining spices.Mix well.
  7. Fry for 4-5 mins.
  8. Now add in the tomatoes.Allow to cook for another 7-8 mins.
  9. Cover and cook for another 4-5 mins until tomatoes are softened.
  10. Now add in the chanay (boiled chickpeas).
  11. Cook for another 5 mins.
  12. Add in around 14 cup water.
  13. Cover and cook for another 3-4 mins.
  14. Uncover now pour in 3 cups water.
  15. Increase heat allow the water to come to a boil. Add in 2 tbsp salt.
  16. Once bubbling add in the soaked rice.
  17. Mix well.Cook for 8-10 mins.
  18. Once water has evaporated well and only a slight remains add in the garam masala powder.Mix well.
  19. Now cover and allow to cook on high flame for 3-4 mins.
  20. After 3-4 mins reduce flame to low..
  21. Cook on damm for another 5-10 mins.
  22. Delicious Chanay ka Pulao is ready!
  23. Serve with mint raita and salad.
